Her salon which is hard to spell Compagnia della Bellezza (pronounced Comp-Aneea-Day-La-Bell-Eat-Za) is a labor of love that she has developed over the last 20 years moving from several locations on Wells Street until she finally bought the old Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum Building. The decor is lovely and artistic. The approach to hair is as “cutting edge” –no pun– from Europe down to daily “lady-up-dos.” The community energy in the salon is friendly and caring. There are no snobby elitists bossing your hair around. You will get advice – but they listen to you first. Maria Paonessa is a great colorist. Go to her if you accidentally used ASH Blonde and your hair turns light purple like mine did one time -Linda G. Not too shabby that Paolo.
