While Maria’s roots are firmly planted in Italy, Compagnia della Bellezza is located in the heart of Old Town neighborhood in a building called Believe It Or Not! All the businesses in the building have been cherry-picked by Maria (she owns the building), and almost all are focused on beauty, from esthetics to electrolysis and nails to facials. There is even a pet boutique – so you and your furry friend can be pampered on the same day. Maria stays current with trends by frequently traveling to Italy to discover and learn new techniques. Owner Maria Paonessa has created an elegant escape where she combines serious hair care with extensive training and professionalism. Incorporating her team of stylists and junior stylists, her menu offers clients the best of cuts, colors, highlights, corrective coloring, and even texturing techniques. Owner Paolo Bivona has been on the Chicago beauty scene for more than 20 years along with their associates and provides customized service based on each client’s unique hair, facial structure and features.
Mallory has been a hair designer for 5 years, having joined the salon in 2009. She believes that moving to Chicago and working with the Compagnia Della Bellezza family has been wonderful because everyone shares such passion for the industry. She has gained incredible experience in Old Town. She feels that her clients feel the warmth of the salon, which is reflective in their feedback. Lily was attracted to CDB because of its uplifting energy and extensive education opportunities. She has been in the profession for nearly 5 years. Lily continues to grow as an educator herself, teaching other stylists and color specialists throughout the US for Brocato. Visit Lily on
